Loyd and Sherry Van Zante have owned and operated their own professional photography studio since 1993. Prior to this studio's opening Loyd ran a successful construction business in Santa Cruz County and worked for a photography studio in Los Altos part-time.

Loyd and Sherry are committed to ongoing education to keep up with the photographic trends and to perfect their photographic skills. Loyd passed rigorous requirements in October of 1996 to obtain the title "Certified Photographer" from The Professional Photographers of America, a title held by fewer than 2,000 photographers worldwide. Both Loyd and Sherry are members of Professional Photographer Associations at  local, state, national, and international levels. Loyd served as President of the Professional Photographers of the Monterey Bay Area (PPMBA)   in 1997 and 1998.

Loyd was awarded the PPMBA's wedding portrait of the year award in 1994 and Studio Portrait of the year in 1996. He was named Photographer of the year in 1995, taking the wedding, studio, and environmental Portrait of the year categories. The Van Zantes were also named best Photographers by the Santa Cruz County's Good Times Reader Poll in 1996, 1998 and 1999.

Photography is Loyd's passion. It has been his hobby since childhood. His unending enthusiasm and joy for photography shows in his work. Loyd knows the art of capturing personality on film. With a wonderful studio staff and the support of Sherry and his family Loyd has produced work his clients love.
